Fixed term: 26 October 2026 - 23 February 2027
Gisborne
Proud of Tairāwhiti? Love meeting people? How would you like to be one of the first friendly faces our international cruise visitors see when they arrive in Gisborne?
We’re looking for four friendly, reliable people to join our team for the summer cruise season. You’ll be right amongst the action on cruise days - welcoming visitors, helping keep passengers safe, managing access points and giving people a great first impression of our region.
You’ll work around scheduled cruise ship visits, with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, including some weekends, public holidays and the Christmas/New Year period.
Cruise ships don’t always run to plan! Weather and operational requirements can change arrival times and schedules, so reliability and flexibility are all part of the adventure.
No port experience? No problem. We’ll provide your uniform and invest in your training so you’re ready to go.
We’re looking for people who are:
- Friendly, calm and comfortable meeting people from all walks of life
- Reliable and able to roll with changes when plans move
- Happy working outdoors and on their feet
- Comfortable following safety and security requirements
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
If spending part of your summer outdoors, meeting people from around the world and helping showcase Tairāwhiti sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and help us welcome the world to Tairāwhiti. Apply now!
