This role supports the safe mooring and unmooring of vessels and is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, physical work around ships and can be flexible with their availability. Shipping movements occur as required and can take place any time of day or night, including weekends.
What the work looks like
- Assisting with the safe mooring and unmooring of vessels
- Working outdoors and around large ships in all weather conditions
- Handling mooring lines and equipment as part of a close-knit team
- Typical movements last around 2–4 hours
Important to know
- This is an occasional, as-needed role, not regular hours
- Work is driven entirely by shipping movements, which can occur 24/7
- You’ll need to be physically fit, comfortable with hands-on work, and willing to work with your team
- This role suits people looking for extra income, rather than ongoing or full-time work
