Gisborne, Te Tairawhiti
- Permanent, full-time opportunity
- Office-based role in the heart of the inner harbour
- A rare chance to support senior leaders in a role that truly makes an impact
About us
Eastland Port is at the heart of the Tairāwhiti economy. From our award-winning offices in Gisborne’s stunning inner harbour, we manage Eastland Port, Gisborne Airport, debarking operations, and a growing property portfolio.
We’re a team that values genuine community connection as much as we value professionalism and innovation. Guided by our values — Own it, Above and Beyond, and Make it Happen — we strengthen communities through the infrastructure we build and the relationships we foster.
The opportunity
This is more than just an admin job — it’s a chance to become the go-to person who keeps Eastland Port’s heart beating smoothly. If you thrive on making sure every detail is spot-on, love dealing with people, and take pride in delivering on time, every time, then you’ll feel right at home here.
As our Office & Executive Administrator, you’ll provide trusted support and high-level administration to our CEO and Executive Leadership Team, manage the daily rhythm of the office, and help deliver the systems and governance that keep us operating smoothly.
You’ll thrive if you love structure, precision, and people in equal measure — because in this role, you’ll switch seamlessly between greeting stakeholders, preparing board reports, reconciling invoices, and coordinating events.
This is a position where your polish and initiative will be valued every day, and where you’ll see the tangible impact of your work on the business and the region.
Starting salary: $80,000 with professional development and growth opportunities available.
We’re looking for:
- A natural organiser: You anticipate needs, juggle priorities, and make it all look effortless.
- People person: You genuinely enjoy interacting with others and bring warmth and approachability to every conversation.
- Professional presence: You communicate with confidence and integrity, representing Eastland Port with polish.
- Detail devotee: Precision is your middle name. You take pride in getting the details right, whether it’s a schedule, a document, or an event.
- Confidentiality and judgement: You’re trusted with sensitive information and handle it with absolute discretion.
- Deadline hero: You deliver on time, every time, and keep everything ticking smoothly.
- A proactive mindset — You don’t wait to be told; you see what needs doing and make it happen.
Why you’ll love it here
- Stunning harbour-front location: Our award-winning offices are right in the heart of the inner harbour marina, offering beautiful views and easy access to scenic walks — whether it’s a lunchtime jog up Kaiti Hill or a stroll by the riverside.
- Perks that matter: Enjoy free parking, a fantastic coffee machine, and a range of benefits like our fitness subsidy, life insurance, and enhanced KiwiSaver contributions.
- A supportive, social workplace: We’re big on looking out for each other. With a lively calendar of social activities and wellbeing initiatives, you’ll feel part of a team that values both professionalism and a sense of fun.
- Be part of a business that connects people, products, and places across Te Tairāwhiti.
- Purpose with impact: Your work supports the leaders shaping the future of Te Tairāwhiti’s infrastructure.
