We’re on the lookout for a reliable and safety-conscious Casual General Hand to support operations at Eastland Port. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across line handling, site protection, and general labouring duties to help ensure everything runs smoothly.

No two days are the same. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that steps in to support key port activity—rain or shine, day or night. We’ll provide training, but a can-do attitude, good communication, and willingness to muck in are essential.

What you’ll be doing
• Assisting with line handling during vessel arrival and departure
• Supporting port protection duties and maintaining safe work areas
• Carrying out general labouring tasks and assisting port teams as needed
• Responding to operational needs as they arise, sometimes at short notice

What we’re looking for
• Physically fit and ready to work in a practical outdoor role
• Flexible and available for variable shifts (including weekends and nights)
• A good communicator and dependable team player
• Full NZ driver’s licence preferred
• Experience around vessels or machinery is helpful, but not essential
